Deep listening

I have had many people tell me that with me, they experienced the most detailed intake process of any practitioner in their entire health journey. I am much more able to help if I have a full, detailed portrait of your inner ecology. Together, we listen deeply and respond to your body’s deepest messaging. 

Natural empowerment

As we work together, I involve you in the process. I offer possibilities and then I hand the power to you: I refuse to just ‘tell you what to do’. Instead, I help you to get quiet and listen to your body and find out what you already know about what you need. You’ll be surprised - you know a lot.

I offer extensive guidance on food choices and unique and do-able lifestyle practices along with herbs and treatments. As we go along, I help you understand why we are doing what we are doing, and how to track your inner terrain and recognize whether and how it is all working - so when our time together is through, you can keep going on your own (or keep coming back for more :).

Every step of the way, I guide you towards practices that will connect you more deeply with both your inner nature, and the natural world - whether guiding your breathing during acupuncture, or prescribing barefoot wanders and sunshine baths!

Ecological rebalancing

Lots of practitioners claim to use natural principles or root cause medicine, but end up falling back on reductionist frameworks and treating symptoms (like fixating on just one hormone or neurotransmitter as the ‘problem’) as opposed to rebalancing your whole being (like nourishing and moving the waters throughout the body while calming and cooling your fire). It's okay- that’s what they have been taught.

I have a unique background that lends itself to seeing the patterns in your body’s infinitely intelligent manifestation of messages, signs, and symptoms. Balance your ecology, and the symptoms resolve on their own. We trust your body.

Intentional container

You commit to a personal transformative arc of two full lunar cycles, where you will clarify your intention and know you will receive my closest attention and my entire suite of healing offerings.  Saying ‘yes’ to a full cycle amplifies your focus and self-healing capacity - you know that for the next two moons your attention and commitment is on sloughing away the layers of disharmony by nourishing and rebalancing your root.

FAQ

  • This offering is designed to midwife a lasting and powerful health transformation. One month *could* yield incredible symptom relief, but two months is more likely to allow your inner ecology to adapt to the changes, and for your spirit (your “Shen”) to integrate the new you, so you experience healing that lasts!

  • Beyond the treatments and consultations, be ready to bring some attention to your transformation for at least 30 minutes each day. Part of the medicine is discovering the spaces in your life to create your practices for inner tracking. There is always a way to carve out room for our healing - and when we are healthier, everything else in our lives flows more smoothly.

  • I am able to offer a two-payment plan of $1500 at the start of each lunar month (or $1150 for the virtual program) - which makes it more do-able- and still an incredible value as you’ll receive the whole package.

  • Every body is different, and if you have had a chronic issue for decades, it might take as long as a year for things to really clear, once the rebalancing begins. In our two lunar months, if you are clear on your intention, committed to the container we create, and ready to make the changes on your end that are needed to start to come into balance, you will almost certainly notice a transformative shift. Healing happens in layers and spirals… the biggest most off-kilter imbalances get cleared first, and then we work with what is revealed beneath, shifting & adapting the herbs & practices as you change, and keep going deeper. You always learn about yourself in the process and come away more self-empowered to do your own healing.

    After the TwoMoons I will offer you follow-up care plan options so you can either maintain, or go even deeper.

  • Yes! It is wonderful to have solidarity while going through deep transformation. I am offering a family/friend “Transformation twin” rate of $2600 each.

  • That’s fine! It is designed so you can calendar your Transformation however it works for you. Part of our experience together includes consultation Zoom or phone calls and an I-Ching reading, which can all happen remotely. If you need to go completely offline, we can set you up beforehand with some healing practices you can do yourself, no matter where you are.

  • You can book a free 20-minute Zoom consultation, tongue assessment and chat, to explore if it is a good fit. You can also explore my Instagram account - in particular - read the writing below the pictures - I go quite in-depth about my healing philosophy and offer lots of guidance and little gems woven through those posts.

  • Chinese Medicine is not the only medicine that offers truly nature-based, root-cause healing - but it is the most well-documented and most widely translated into English, and it is the most established in the US. In California, the Chinese Medical education and certification process is long and rigorous - akin to medical school - and offers both Western and Eastern Medical training so that we can provide full-spectrum patient care when we’re done. The essence of Chinese Medicine is based around the concept that people manifest patterns through the language of their body - and each person should receive unique medicine based on their constitution and presenting patterns.

I’m Alison Wood, MSOM, LAc

I’m an acupuncturist licensed to provide primary care as a Chinese Medicine practitioner in California. More importantly, I am a mother, herbalist, yogini, nature devoteé, writer, keen observer, and alchemist. When I began my clinical practice, I discovered that I could combine my studies of Chinese Medicine :: with my deep personal experience of my own energetic pathways through yoga :: with my study of fluid physics and the ancient energy body of the Earth as an undergrad at MIT :: with my longest study - my deep, holy and blissful apprenticeship with nature.
